About the American Great Loop
The Great Loop is a 6,000 mile circumnavigation of eastern United States.
The journey includes Atlantic Intracoastal waterway, The Canadian Canals, some parts of Canada, the Great Lakes, New York State Canals, inland rivers and the Gulf of Mexico. The trip takes boaters thru 15 states and two Canadian provinces.

The route usually takes about a year with seasons guiding the way.
Loopers ( a name given to cruisers setting out to make a complete loop around the eastern United States) travel The Great Loop counter-clockwise. Traveling this direction Loopers travel the inland rivers in fall, winter months in Florida, spring up the east coast and summers in The Great Lakes.
The Great Loop is a unique journey. Fewer than 200 boats complete The Great Loop each year.
